The Best Budget Sports Cars

How many car enthusiasts would like to drive fast and do it for cheap? From my experience, the answer is usually everyone. Even if we have our own reasons for why we want to have cheap sports cars, we all can agree it is great fun. Some of us are on a tight budget while others just like to experiment with cheap project cars. Whatever your reason, we all like cheap speed and in this blog, I will explore some of the best options at a variety of affordable price points. The objective is to explore the most satisfying and well-rounded options at each price target. The price targets will be 5k, 10k, 20k, and 100k dollars. Even though many will consider 100k dollars way out of reach for a “cheap” car, it is worth exploring the options since some people will be spending this and even much more for their vehicles.

5k- In this price range, it is worth remembering a few things. First, these cars will be well worn and many years old. Maintenance is a serious consideration when purchasing a car of this age. Lastly, you have to be comfortable with completing certain maintenance yourself in this price range or you will blow through any budget. Here is the first car to check out- Audi S4 (2005). This German-built 340 horsepower V8 sedan will never fail to put a smile on your face. With fast acceleration and respectable gas mileage, you can’t go wrong with one of these at the right price. The second car to check out- Mazda Miata (Any year). While this car may seem down on power it certainly makes up for it with its lightweight body and ability to take corners fast. They are reliable vehicles and easy to modify.

10k- The benefits of this budget are great compared to the previous category. If you can afford the jump from 5k to 10k I would completely recommend checking out some options closer to 10k dollars. The first car to consider- Mercedes-Benz E 35 AMG Sedan. Don’t let the looks of this car fool you. With a supercharged V8, this will be one of the fastest cars anybody can find at this price point. It also will have a very luxurious Mercedes interior. The second car to consider- Honda S2000. While these are becoming hard to find, they can be an absolute joy to drive. With a highly reliable Honda engine that can rev to 9,000 RPM’s, you will always have a smile while you drive this car.

20k- Things start to look quite nice around this price as you will be able to look at newer and more powerful vehicles. At this price, you can also expect much nicer interiors and cars that have been maintained well. A car worth considering- BMW M3. These cars have the benefits of speed, luxury, and practicality. This is definitely an enthusiast car for those who don’t mind getting their hands dirty. Another option- Chevy Corvette. These cars are classic. Anybody will recognize them and they are reasonably easy to find for sale.

100k- At this price, you have every right to expect high-end luxury, plenty of power, and great looks. A great option that fits these criteria is the Porsche 911. With extreme performance and a luxurious interior, any buyer of this car better be ready to pay big for this high-end vehicle. Another option if all you care about is raw power would be a new Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat. There is nothing fancy or revolutionary about this car other than the fact that it is just insanely fast. It has one of the most powerful production engines ever made. A car like this will never fail to put a smile on your face.

Final Thoughts- While there are certainly other prices to check out and an immense variety of other cars to consider, I hope that this at least gave you some ideas to think about and spark some curiosity about what else is available. No matter how much you spend on a vehicle, you can always make it your own and fun with it!
